A Bit About Me

Greetings! I'm Tram Nguyen, coming from Vietnam. After completing my bachelor's degree, I dedicated half a decade to working in various Marketing and Communication departments of multinational organizations in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, where I gathered my experience in conducting business in emerging markets.

Seeking a new horizon, I embarked on a transformative journey to Munich, Germany. Here, I pursued my master's degree and also had a semester abroad at Edinburgh Napier University in Scotland, UK. During this time, I had the fantastic opportunity to learn about Scottish culture and live in the magnificent cities and nature of the UK. These experiences in Germany and the UK helped me immerse myself in a diverse international environment. The challenges of living abroad are invigorating, and I'm drawn to the exhilarating mix of novelty and growth they offer.

While I have a passion for marketing, I yearn to explore new avenues beyond my familiar job scope. Hence, I've chosen to venture into the field of data analytics. I believe that a foundation in data analytics will facilitate problem-solving in managing marketing campaigns and various other fields while broadening my opportunities in the European job market.

I am a person who excels under high pressure; I enjoy the feeling of achieving goals. My hobbies include reading, writing, cooking, and travelling. I am particularly fond of philosophy and enjoy engaging in meaningful discussions on philosophical topics with friends and family.

I'm in pursuit of an opportunity to further develop my expertise in data analysis, particularly in marketing and communication analysis. My eagerness to join a dynamic international environment stems from a desire to nurture analytical skills and gain exposure to a wide range of analyst tools and technologies.

Siemens Energy (Munich, Germany) – Business Strategy

 Data Analyst and Market Intelligence (Working Student)

  • Conducted monthly market intelligence reports analysing technology advancements, industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitiveness factors in the energy industry.

  • Developed and maintained a Market Potential Analysis dashboard using Tableau and MS Excel, providing visual insights from market opportunities, product segments, and growth potential.

  • Supported Competitor analysis by identifying key strategies, market positioning, and global trends related to decarbonisation and green energy.

  • Conducted Portfolio analysis to optimise resource allocation and strategic decision-making for high-value products and target markets.

  • Collaborated with cross-functional teams to gather relevant data, analyse, and generate actionable insights.

  • Presented findings and recommendations to stakeholders, supporting business strategy development and implementation.

August 2020 - March 2021

Samsung Electronics (HCM City, Vietnam)

Senior Marketing Executive

  • Coordinated to manage the Samsung brand, valued at $US 74.6M in 2021, with the sub-brand "B2B Samsung Professional Display, " which addressed the $ US 1M yearly marketing budget.

  • Use data intelligence, inc. market forecast, customer insight, brand audit, and sales report to analyse marketing performance and implement suitable strategies.

  • Implemented strategic plans and evaluated the performance of marketing channels (digital marketing, social media, advertising, PR, email marketing, CRM)

  • Communicated marketing performance to stakeholders (BoD, B2B partners)

  • Designed Go-to-market strategy for "Samsung Smart Monitor."

  • Led 5 members of two B2B & B2C marketing teams with different products and markets.

Edinburgh Napier University, the UK (Double Degree)

M.Sc International Business Management focusing on Operations, Finance, and Intercultural Communication

This master's course is a collaboration between Edinburgh Napier University in the UK (Double Degree) and the University of Applied Sciences Landshut in Germany (Double Degree). This has provided me with the opportunity to earn a double master's degree while studying abroad in the UK. The comprehensive program includes a semester abroad in the UK and encompasses essential courses such as Operations, Finance, and Intercultural Communication. The university's diverse environment nurtures my intercultural skills, enabling effective collaboration with international peers from different countries during group projects.

University of Applied Sciences Landshut, Germany (Double Degree)

MA International Business with a focus on Operations, Strategy, and Project management

This master course enables me to expand my knowledge in general business and the international market. My previous focus is marketing, but I need more knowledge in other fields to accomplish my mindset about business in general. I have learned about project management, operation management, international marketing, supply chain management, and financial and accounting management throughout this course. This overall knowledge will help prepare me for the following management stage in my career path.

BA. Marketing (Integrated Communication Marketing, Market research, B2B Marketing)

​My lifelong work and love is marketing. And I believe in my ability, knowledge, and skills in this industry. The full-time study in marketing at university gave me a general view of marketing, from “what is marketing” to “how to do marketing your brand and products.” My interest is in communication and digital marketing. Now I am trying to learn more about data analysis, which adapts to analyze marketing performance and give marketing strategy for decision making. Learning is a life-long journey, and I enjoy it so much.
